Training the workforce to support special and additional special educational needs and disabilities in mainstream schools.
A Whole School Approach to Improving Access, Participation and Achievement is a training day and tool-kit for existing or aspiring SENCos, Inclusion Managers and INCos developed with the help of SENCos for use in schools, by SENCOs. The tool-kit offers schools a training programme that is flexible and adaptable enough to meet group and individual needs in school.
The overall aim of the tool-kit is to support the SENCo in delivering whole school professional development. It can be used for Whole School staff development, induction training or departmental training.
The Toolkit was funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and is free to SENCos in England.
The training includes a copy of this free training tool-kit full of photocopiable and adaptable resources, tools and ideas to help the SENCo share best practice for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Additional resources and information are available from the training website www.nasentraining.org.uk.
The course is led and facilitated by Anita Devi, a National SEN Consultant and trainer with experience from early years to postgraduate provision.
