Effective tracking enables you to shape your approach to maximise student

atiainment. During this course you will learn a variety of strategies to track and

improve students’ progress, by developing an increased understanding of how to

use data this will enable you to track progress more effectively and improve



You will be able to:

• Describe what constitutes effective teaching and learning with respect to


• Use an increased repertoire of teaching and learning strategies to enhance

students’ literacy skills

• Identify the contexts in which students will use exploratory talk and active

reading strategies

• Demonstrate an awareness of the range of writing styles required in science

and how they can be developed
