Sylvia joined Denbigh as Business Manager in 2009 with more than twenty years management and accounting experience working for multi-national organisations. Sylvia has introduced improved ways of working, and has implemented new financial systems to support the School’s financial and statutory obligations as an academy. She has implemented cashless catering systems and created a number of new policies including risk management and investment.
Sylvia has supported a number of schools through the process of becoming an academy. This included reviewing and choosing financial systems, managing closure programmes and implementing the changes necessary to operate financially as an academy. She has provided guidance in reviewing resources, banks, financial advisors and auditors.
Sylvia has strong management, commercial and accounting skills, and is able to offer support and guidance to schools considering or transitioning to academy status. She is able to assist with the change process, and with the design and implementation of suitable systems, processes and resources.
